Santa Clara, Ca., (March 8th, 2005) – Global video games publisher, Namco Hometek Inc. announced today that the company has signed a licensing agreement with Nottingham, UK-based Games Workshop Group PLC , to create interactive games based on the dark, medieval fantasy world of Warhammer. The exclusive, long-term deal will allow Namco to publish multiple games for the PC and also allows for future console and handheld gaming versions.

“Warhammer is considered among the greatest fantasy gaming brands in the world,” said Grantley Day, Director of PC Development for Namco Hometek Inc. “We plan to extend its rich characters, environments and lore to the video game arena, with some blockbuster titles for the PC.”

Games Workshop, a designer and manufacturer of tabletop wargames featuring armies of highly detailed model soldiers, created the Warhammer setting for hobbyists who love and appreciate fantasy worlds and rich imagery. Warhammer is a medieval fantasy world of legend, reminiscent of late Dark Age Europe. It is populated by Orcs, Goblins, Dwarfs, wizards and savage monsters who wield devastating magical energies and enormous weapons to battle for supremacy. Formidable armies fight each other in epic battles, whilst the forces of Chaos strive to undermine the basic fabric of society from within. It is a world where only the strongest survive.

Wat soll dat den heißen"nur Fantasy".Gerade nen Fantasy-Game wäre doch super !!!!!!!!.Ich denke da so in ne Art wie "Schlacht um Mittelerde",halt nur im Warhammer-Universum angesiedelt.

Jedenfalls werden sich alle PC-Besitzer freuen. Ob´s auch welche für Konsolen geben wird.......wird man sehen. Im Rollenspiel-Genre wird für neuen Wind gesorgt werden.

Das hoffe ich doch sehr.Nen anständiges Rollenspiel auf PC wäre nicht schlecht.

aber warhammer gab es schon ewig als mmorpg zumindest in planung!
